Healthy Barbecue Chicken Tacos

Eating healthy never has to be bland, blah or boring.

Using a “clean” barbecue sauce and in the right amount can make your tacos taste great while being healthy.

I found this barbecue sauce at my local Mother’s Market and found a similar one (Annie’s Homegrown) you can have delivered at a discount from here.

Using raw and local honey can help and relieve your allergy symptoms and is a natural, non-processed, sweetener.

Taco’s Ready “To Go”

A big part of Taco FUN is that you don’t have to cook them.

Well, this recipe cooks itself, in your slow cooker.

Whether you eat your Tacos at home or take them “to go”, use extra lettuce as your taco shell.

The more greens you eat the better!

Instructions
  1. In a large crock cooker, place chicken, onion, and garlic. In a medium bowl whisk broth, barbecue sauce, honey, salt, and pepper. Pour sauce over chicken. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or cook on HIGH for 4 hours. Chicken is done when it is "falling apart" fork tender. Remove chicken from crock cooker and place on a large cutting board or plate. Allow to cool slightly, then shred with two forks. Return shredded chicken to crock cooker. Using a slotted spoon, serve chicken on lettuce leaves.
